Because of the economy, we have experienced a
severe drop in the number and amount of donations we are receving for
programs outside the United States. Therefore, we are temporarily
suspending our global grant activities until the economy
improves. Until such time as the economy improves, you should
disregard the following provisions for applying for a grant from the
WFC:
The World Foundation for Children welcomes requests for
financial assistance from missionaries, Non-Government Organizations
(NGOs), non-profit organizations, churches, and interfaith
organizations. Valid proposals will fully outline how children will
benefit, as listed in the Mission Statement of the World Foundation for
Children (WFC).
The appropriate form for a request is a two or three page letter, plus attachments, in the following format:
1. Name and address of your organization, name of contact person, mail
and e-mail addresses, and phone number. Please include date and number
of IRS 501 (C) (3), if in U. S.
2. Brief description of your work, including staffing, facilities, and total budget.
3. Proposal for a grant, including total amount requested, specific
descriptions of how the funds will be utilized, time frame, scope of
work, and possible options. The WFC does not establish any limits for
grants, although partial funding may be provided.
4. Discussion of how the grant would be protected from fraud, misuse,
unlawful or unethical uses by the initial or intended recipients.
Accountability is essential.
5. How effectiveness of the final results will be measured and shared with other organizations facing similar challenges.
In addition, it is highly recommended that you attach to your
application five to ten digital photographs (on disc in .JPG format) of
children intended to benefit from the grant. If the children are in the
U. S., letters of permission for the WFC to use the photos should be
signed by parents or guardians and included as attachments to the
application. Please note that it is the policy of the WFC to post on
our website all grant proposals that have been approved by the WFC
committee. Each grant summary may be posted for a year or longer.
Normally, unless there is some form of emergency or urgent need, the
contributions made by donors to the WFC will be gathered and
consolidated for distribution about the first of each year.
Distributions to grant applicants may be made in partial allotments as
needed.
Successful applicants should anticipate one or more visits by WFC per year.
Grant applications should be mailed to: World Foundation for Children, 277 Crider Lane, Woodstock, VA 22664.
