The Volunteer Farm of Culpeper is a 100 acre parcel of land that has been leased to the Volunteer Farm Network by an anonymous land owner.
This farm will be utilized to grow vegetables and accept donations of cows, sheep and goats to provide protein and fresh vegetables for the hungry.
At the present time, the land owner is having the acreage cleared of existing trees and brush. Coming this spring, we hope to start putting up fencing on the farm.
This year volunteers will be needed
on the Culpeper Farm to build fencing, and generally help start the operation,
including fund-raising.
Bob Blair is quoted as saying, “It is very important
that we start small and grow gradually, so that we keep in pace with the number
of volunteers and donations from the community we serve. Because our organization is not rich, we must
depend on financial aid from the community we serve, and in this case our community
covers several counties and one city. We cannot rob Peter to pay Paul."
If you would like to volunteer at the farm, or any of our other facilities, please use our "Sign Up Form" and we will be in contact with you.
